SAN ANTONIO,  June 2022 — Alamo Beer Co., home to San Antonio’s legendary craft beer, is proud to announce FatherFest on Saturday, June 18, 2022. True to Alamo’s longstanding tradition of community giving, the beer company will partner with the nonprofit organization, Pints for Prostates, to raise awareness and support for their cause while serving up quality craft beer and delicious food.

Celebrate Dad with beer, food, music and toast to better health with this very special Father’s Day event. Enjoy live music by Finding Friday (2pm-3:30pm), and Texas’-favorite, Two Tons of Steel (4pm-5:30pm). On the large brewery grounds, this free fest includes lawn games, vendors, haircuts by Diesel Barbershop, bounce house, and more at this beloved, annual fest.

The growing celebration of fathers and families will include free prostate, testosterone, and lipid screening for men (from noon-5pm). It’s a simple blood test that can be an early indication of prostate cancer. “Get tested. Live longer. Drink more beer”

Lots of free parking for this family-(and dog) friendly event.

The group was founded in 2008 after beer journalist Rick Lyke was diagnosed at 47-years-old and successfully treated for prostate cancer. Special thanks to Pints for Prostates, The Urology Place and Dr. Naveen Kella MD, Prostate Conditions Education Council, and our sponsors Cavendar Auto Family.

"We created this event to call attention to prostate cancer and to tell men, especially all the dads, that we want you to get screened and, if necessary, treated," said Eugene Simor, Founder & Owner of Alamo Beer Company and prostate cancer survivor. "FatherFest is meant to be a lot of fun but also to encourage men to take prostate cancer seriously.”

The pet-friendly brewery sits beneath the historic Hays Street Bridge in East Downtown San Antonio and boasts plenty of outdoor seating, mouthwatering food and beer menu, free parking, lawn games, and more.  The event is free and open to the public.
